European day of data protection
The European Personal Data Protection Day on January 28, 2023 marks an occasion to remind us of the importance of protecting and respecting individual rights and freedoms in the context of personal data processing.
In Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets high standards for the protection of personal data, which apply to all member states of the Council of Europe. This day is an opportunity for each one of us to take responsibility for the protection of personal data and to make sure that we respect it in our daily activities.
It is important to be aware of our rights with regard to the processing of personal data, such as the right of access, rectification or deletion of data, and to exercise them when necessary. It is also essential to be transparent about how we collect, use and share personal data and to ensure that it is processed lawfully and fairly.
On this day, we celebrate and promote the importance of personal data protection and commit to continue to act in line with European data protection standards. Let us remember to protect everyone’s personal data and to be aware of the importance of doing so to respect individual rights and freedoms.
